TARK (Tamachtiluyan Alan R. King) is a cultural and educational initiative based in El Salvador, dedicated to preserving and teaching the Náhuat language, the indigenous tongue of the Pipil people. Inspired by the legacy of Alan R. King, a passionate advocate for Náhuat revitalization, TARK is an online school that aims to connect with students around the world, providing accessible language learning and cultural education to keep the language alive for future generations.

The Breakthrough

When TARK was founded, one of the main challenges was bridging geographical gaps. The Náhuat language, while rich in history, has limited formal teaching resources, and students from other countries often struggled to access authentic lessons or guidance.

Key challenges included:

  • Limited digital resources for learning Náhuat
  • Difficulty connecting students globally
  • Scarcity of structured lesson plans and materials
  • Need for a platform to honor and continue Alan R. King’s legacy

TARK’s mission became clear: to create an accessible, global platform for teaching Náhuat while preserving its cultural significance and passing on Alan R. King’s dedication to language education.

The Results
  • Enabled students across the globe to learn and practice Náhuat
  • Provided structured, accessible educational resources
  • Strengthened the cultural identity and pride of the Náhuat-speaking community
  • Continued the legacy of Alan R. King, inspiring new language advocates

"As the main coordinator behind the TARK initiative, I had a clear vision — to honor the legacy of Tamachtiluyan Alan R. King and create a platform that could connect Náhuat students across the globe. What I received went far beyond what I imagined.

Working with Oscar has been a privilege and a joy. Not only did he build a platform that perfectly represents our mission, but he also understood the heart behind this project. His dedication, creativity, and respect for our cultural legacy made all the difference.
